Our audience is young, so developing a feature from a meme that has the potential to be an online cult felt like the prefect way to come out of the gate with our new platform. Vibe check felt like an obvious phrase for videos our users were already describing as “vibey”/ Because of the personal nature, Snap is an obvious place to share them, and Snap is also the “operating system for Gen Z”. Vibe-Checker was first added in version (v1.8.8) under the name Anxious Guy, and got its current containment room in version (v1.8.9), and its name was changed to its current name in version (v1.9) The Vibe-Checker Containment Class is Euclid. Not surprisingly, TRASH videos in Stories get more engagement than regular Stories, because video is just that much richer when it’s edited together well. The Vibe-Checker is a head that has been severely traumatized and has only one hand. TRASH videos are the evolution of Stories. They’re a lot like what you might see in people’s Stories on Social Media, short moments, feelings, jokes. It’s how you feel, it’s how the room feels. The concept of the vibe has been around a long time, but people might give you all sorts of definitions for what that means.
